How many scholarships are awarded and for what amounts?
The number of scholarships awarded each year is based on the funds available and the number of applicants.
Historically the Scholarship Foundation has awarded from as few as 4 student scholarships to as many as 7 student scholarships.
The scholarship amount awarded will be a guaranteed minimum of $500 but is subject to increase based of the number of applicants and available funds.
Who selects the scholarship winners?
Scholarship applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Foundation who act as the selection committee. The committee reviews each application. The committee is made up of volunteer community members with an interest in the potential demonstrated by the applicants for a post-secondary education.
How does the scholarship selection committee choose the winners?
The committee selects winners based on the following measures:
Letters of recommendation
Proof of enrollment to post-secondary school
Is the scholarship limited to certain college and courses of study?
Scholarship winners may attend any accredited two or four-year college of their choice. Students must be enrolled and be able to show proof of enrollment to receive the scholarship funds. Once the scholarship winner has enrolled at the school of their choice and proof of enrollment has been shown to the scholarship selection committee, funds will be disbursed to the student at this time.
When are winners announced?
